For those of you visiting for the first time:

ATTENTION: Elder Michael Piercy will complete his mission and will return home on August 6, 2010 (revised arrival information is in the column to the right) Michael is scheduled to give his homecoming report in the Salt River Ward on August 8. The Salt River ward meets at 1:30 PM in the Cooley Park (west) chapel at 3345 E. McLellan Rd. Mesa, AZ 85213. Elder Piercy has been serving a two year mission in Armenia as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon).

Next week I will post photos of his homecoming and a recording of his homecoming report at church. That will be my final entry on "Michael's Mission Blog". He will start a new chapter in his life which you will have to follow on Face Book. Thanks to all who were interested enough to follow this Blog, I've enjoyed doing it and Elder Piercy deserves a lot of recognition for faithfully reporting each and every week with very few exceptions. Feel free to comment this week and welcome Michael home.

New e-mail Address

Hello to all my Spectacular, and ever interested Fans!-

I hope that reading my email will not take away from your Winter Olympic viewing, but I will try to keep it just as interesting! As a side note, I didn't even know that the Olympics were going on... weird. Anyway, I won't make you wait any longer, let's begin
the roller coaster ride- my mission life!

Well before you all get excited, to tell the truth it was not a terribly exciting week... at least for me, hopefully something of interest will be here.

For anyone who is interested, my email has been changed. The church finally got rid of myldsmail and updated to google mail! So here is my new email address.

michael.piercy@myldsmail.net

I think the old one still works and will forward me my emails, but use this from now on!

Last Preparation Day a bunch of us went bowling with Elder Kyle to wish him off to America, it was super fun like usual, but also a little bit sad. It was even worse because afterward Elder Simonsen and I had lunch with our MTC group and had to say farewell to Sister Woolf and Sister Fuhriman who also went home. It's weird to think they are gone now, but, hey life goes on!

Tuesday we actually did not have District Meeting due to the transfer so we had a whole day to do Missionary Work! We had a really good meeting with a member Lusine where we reviewed "The Living Christ" and bore our testimonies to go with the First Presidency and Apostles, it was a really cool and powerful meeting. We also had a
really good meeting with our investigator Igit about the Word of Wisdom and the Priesthood and things, he is still doing really well, but unfortunately he missed church again this week. That's 2 weeks in a row now, I am not worried, but it stinks because all this stuff keeps happening to him that is keeping him from church... Satan stinks.

District Meeting got moved to Wednesday due to transfer and Elder Simonsen and I went down to Artashat to visit with that District. We actually did the meeting and we felt like it went well, I just hope the District Members accepted our advice. We talked about Street Skills, specifically: Mindset, Planning, and Conversation techniques. We felt like the things we said were inspired so as long as they apply it, the will see improvement and progression, I know it! We did not end up doing an exchange since the Artashat companionship was changed and they had only been together for about a day so... we let them stay together.

Here is where the unfortunate thing happened, nothing else really happened this week. It was a tough week for us... none of our investigators were able to meet, we just struggled finding new investigators on the street. The maddening thing was we felt like we had a super good planning session last Saturday and that the week was going to be great! The problem was, when we started to put forth the effort (all our plans for finding and things...) it fell apart. I personally think it was a test, just to see if we would have a good planning session again this week. Well, two days ago, we had another amazing planning session so I expect this week will be fantabulous!

We did see a light of hope on Sunday when our stud investigator Karlen finally got back from Gyumri and came to church again. He really seems to enjoy church and I expect him to continue progressing until Baptism! The unfortunate thing was he was the only investigator at church, but what can you do, I was happy that he came.

The talks at church where also pretty interesting! It was overall a good meeting, but one of our members Brother Galdunts said something really funny. He was talking about Patriarchal Blessings and he said that they are like a fortune teller for us telling us what we need to do and can do in our life. I guess it makes sense if you think about it really simply, but it probably wasn't the best analogy... At least people understood though.

On Sunday we also found out that a lady we had given a blessing to a few weeks ago has just totally changed. It was a less active girl and her mother told us at church that she is just amazed at how much she has changed and was wondering what was said in the blessing. This was the lady who only spoke Russian that we visited with Brother Galdunts, that is why she asked what was said... being a missionary sure is cool!

Well as for everything else nothing much happened this week, hopefully next week will be more exciting and I can keep you better entertained! Today I am going to a wedding which will be cool. Mher's older sister is getting married to the guy that baptized him, so hopefully I can tell you all about that next week!

I guess that's it, I hope you all have an amazing week and just keep being yourselves and improving!

Love,
Elder Piercy

Yes I know I look like a ninja, But Hey- it keeps me warm!
